Instagram Teens!
Thank you Instagram for not only having me at your big announcement event but for being BOLD in this world of tubes and taking a stand to protect our teens.
ICYMI: as of Tuesday, September 17th, 2024, teen Instagram user’s accounts (under 18) started automatically migrating to Teen Accounts. Since we just hit the 60-day migration mark, all teen accounts should now be migrated. With that said, have you (or your child) noticed a difference?
These teen accounts will have built-in limits on who can contact them and viewable content. Additionally, there will be more ways for teens to connect and explore their interests.
I was invited to the Meta Office in NYC to chat with the Instagram team, experts and fellow parenting creators about how we can create balance and set boundaries as we navigate online spaces with our families.
Instagram Teen Accounts offer parents confidence that their teens are having safe, age-appropriate experiences from the start – which is SO important!!
Parents don’t have to do anything to make sure this happens, as of now it’s automatic. Intelligence is also built in to catch teens who lie about their age.
