Top ER on Long Island
Congratulations to Good Samaritan University Hospital (GSUH) and Catholic Health of Long Island for their absolutely incredible, brand-new, $500 million, state-of-the-art Patient Care Pavilion – including a new level 1 emergency room and level 2 pediatric emergency room!
Catholic Health’s Groundbreaking Investment
This is the biggest investment Catholic Health Long Island has made into one of their facilities and I’m amazed by this building!
I loved learning about Good Sam’s dedication to promoting Long Islander’s healing and peace of mind for body and spirit.
In fact, they’ve incorporated many local touches to mirror the community feeling and beauty of the area while expanding access to advanced compassionate care for local families.
Why is the Good Sam Patient Care Pavilion grand opening so exciting?

Designed With A Post-Pandemic Mind Frame
Besides design and construction happening in a post-pandemic world, incorporating what we learned from Covid, it’s a fully forward-thinking space.
Plus, it’s the only dedicated pediatric trauma and specialty emergency department on the south shore of Long Island.

Family Centered Level 2 Pediatric ER
The dedicated pediatric trauma and emergency pod is specifically designed for children and families. It includes calm kid-friendly family-centered spaces (read: art projects and video games), sensory-designed rooms, on-site pediatric specialists, and a supportive environment.
Plus complimentary refreshments and parking!
The Only Diagnostic Imaging Center Of Excellence in Suffolk County
GSUH is not only a diagnostic imaging center of excellence, but also has the 1st Siemens photon counting CT in Suffolk County.
I was so impressed with their infectious disease sensitivity, touchdown stations, and person of size rooms. Not to mention their ability to shut down individual floor pods with the touch of a button and the thoughtful location of their OR right above their ER waiting room. But my favorite feature was their germ and dust-reducing blinds built in between the panels of glass instead of outside of them.
Not to mention their 8 ambulance entrances, 10 trauma bays, 3 CT machines, and more.
Good Samaritan University Hospital (GSUH) is located at 1000 Montauk Highway in West Islip, NY 11795.
