I’ve been dying to see TITANIQUE The Musical for months and finally got the chance to board.
We all know the story of the ill-fated ship, we all fell in love with Leo in 1999, we all sang “My Heart Will Go On” nonstop for years… but TITANIQUE asks – what if Celine herself was ON the boat?
Ha! Yep! This is where we start as the curtain goes up. A hysterical Celine (Dee Roscioli) welcomes us and tells her version of the story as if she was a passenger too.
She’s reveals herself on a present day Titanic museum tour and asks its guests if they knew: she was actually ON the ship (yes making her over 150 years old).
The laughs begin there and don’t end until the standing ovation concludes.
This show offers all that one could imagine in an off-Broadway parody and does not disappoint. From intertwining each beloved Celine Dion song into the pivotal plot moments to living out scenes not in the script we wish were there (slap).
Awards on her bow: 2023 Outstanding Off-Broadway Musical, Lucille Lortel Award, Off-Broadway Alliance Award, Dorian Theater Award, and Las Culturistas Culture Award.
TITANIQUE is a one-of-a-kind musical voyage bursting with nostalgia and heart. I promise you will love taking this sail on the Ship of Dreams, just watch out for that “Iceberg Bitch”!
